Message from our CEO
Welcome to our new newsletter! This monthly online publication is an opportunity for us to share events, updates, and stories from the Saskatchewan Community Foundation. It’s a chance to look back at the previous month and learn what’s coming ahead. Not only do we get to talk about what is happening at the Community Foundation, but to highlight the amazing work by our charity, community, business partners, and our wonderful donors.
Thank you for your continued support of the Community Foundation and for all that you do for the people and places here in Saskatchewan.
With gratitude,
Donna Ziegler, CEO
Saskatchewan Community Foundation

New Name, Same Great Aim!
As you may have noticed, we recently dropped the “south” from our name. We are officially the Saskatchewan Community Foundation.
What does this mean for you? Our website and email have also changed from “sscf.ca” to “SaskFoundation.ca” and some of our direct phone numbers, but for most donors, charities, and partners, you won’t notice a difference as the values and the focus of the Community Foundation have stayed the same.
What has changed is that we’re now able to take part in more provincial partnerships and reach more areas.
At the Saskatchewan Community Foundation, we aim to provide opportunities to any area in our province that is not already served by a community foundation.
For example, we have been involved in projects across Saskatchewan from the very south all the way up to Stony Rapids near the Northwest Territories!
Our new provincial partnerships include SUMAInvest and our farmland donation program – a partnership between the Saskatchewan Community Foundation and Farmland Legacies.
If you have questions or comments, don’t hesitate to give us a call at 306-751-4756.

New Fund Story
Hannah’s Hope for Healing Legacy Fund
Hannah’s Hope for Healing Legacy Fund is a memorial fund that was created in January to honour Hannah Benesh’s life, strength, and compassion. Hannah was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, teammate, and friend. She worked hard, studied hard, and continued to show up for the people she loved. Hannah was 26 when she died, but her story is defined by far more than her passing. She lived with ADHD, major depressive disorder, and anxiety, and she faced these challenges with honesty and courage.
Carrying Her Legacy Forward:
Hannah’s Hope for Healing Legacy Fund supports causes that reflect who Hannah was and what she cared about most:
- Mental health programming
- Post-secondary education
- Dog rescues and animal welfare
You can read more about Hannah and the Legacy Fund her family created for her on our website.
Hannah’s family is putting on a fundraiser in Regina on May 30, 2026.
Legacy Impact Story
The Bill and Helen Davidson Foundation Fund
This fund started 18 years ago at Saskatchewan Community Foundation by Helen Davidson and was named after herself and her late husband. We wanted to highlight this fund for a couple reasons. First, you can now read on our website about their story and the impact the fund has created. And secondly, because of Helen’s foresight and generosity years ago, this fund continues to do great work here in Saskatchewan.
From a gift of a piano to a large donation for the Weyburn Triple C Centre, celebrating art and culture is at the heart of this impressive fund. The Bill and Helen Davidson Foundation Fund aims to assist, support, encourage or promote any charitable organization with cultural, community, or religious activities in the Weyburn area. The fund focuses on developing talent and music skills, and providing comfort to those in need as perpetuated by the life and wishes of Helen E. Davidson. Helen died in 2011 at age 102.
