A new grand piano will give students and performers at the Tommy Douglas Centre in Weyburn an opportunity to share their music, thanks to the Bill and Helen Davidson Foundation Fund.
The Fund provided $60,000 in grants: $50,000 toward a new piano in honour of Helen Davidson and $10,000 for capital improvements. This support helped the Centre purchase a Yamaha C3XPE grand piano and replace its lawn sign.
The Centre hopes the piano will become a centerpiece of local cultural life. For some students, it may offer their first opportunity to perform on a professional grand piano.
This gift continues the Fund’s support for music in Weyburn, following piano purchases for Calvary Baptist Church in 2011 and Tatagwa View Long Term Care Centre in 2018.
The Centre’s board of directors expressed gratitude to the Bill and Helen Davidson Fund and Saskatchewan Community Foundation for supporting these improvements.
