The Caring Place provides confidential, professional counselling to people of all ages. This includes counselling for individuals, couples, and families. We offer support groups and programs. These funds aim to support the operations, programs, and activities of The Caring Place.
For over 30 years, The Caring Place has offered Affordable and Accessible Mental Health Care for All. Its Impact Fund subsidizes costs and retains top talent, eliminates delay to ensure no one waits over a week for help.
For 30+ years, The Caring Place has provided subsidized mental health care in SK. The new Legacy Fund turns this into a permanent endowment, securing its future to ensure affordable, quality care remains accessible for generations.

In mental health care, waiting months for an appointment could result in a manageable struggle escalating into a severe crisis. The primary goal of the Impact Fund is to reduce these dangerous delays.

How Your Donation Drives Change
To maintain our 1-week standard and keep care affordable, the Impact Fund focuses on two critical pillars:
Subsidizing Care Costs
Bridging the gap for working families, low-income individuals, and marginalized groups so that cost is never a barrier to entry.
Attraction & Retention of Talent
Funding the recruitment and retention of highly qualified, specialized staff. Supporting our team allows us to provide the high level of care our community deserves while keeping pace with growing demand.
Private therapy costs shouldn’t block healing. We offer four distinct pathways to ensure financial accessibility for all:
1. Sliding Scale Fees
For standard appointments, session fees are directly adjusted based on your total household income. Those with lower incomes pay a significantly reduced rate.
2. Flat Fee Fridays
A specialized initiative offering reduced-rate sessions (typically $50).
- How it works: Clients call on Wednesday mornings to book these specific slots for the upcoming Friday.
3. Third-Party Funding & Insurance
We are an approved provider through multiple private insurance firms and Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs).
4. Federal Government Programs
Our counsellors are approved to provide services covered under federal programs, including the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program for registered First Nations and recognized Inuit clients.
The Caring Place Legacy Fund

True to our founding vision, we believe that mental health support should be a right, not a privilege—ensuring our services remain affordable and accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Although The Caring Place already operates on a sliding fee scale based on family income levels, many families are still faced with difficult decisions and limited financial resources. This is where your donations make a direct and visible impact on people’s lives. With the support of critical donors, The Caring Place will be able to continue our 30-year legacy of providing subsidized mental health care for all, ensuring that financial hardship never stands in the way of healing.

Charity Legacy Fund Incentive
Thanks to the generous gift from an anonymous donor, the Saskatchewan Community Foundation is able to support the long-term sustainability of local organizations through the growth of Legacy (Endowed) Funds. For every dollar contributed to a charity's Legacy Fund held at the Community Foundation, we will contribute an additional 10% on an annual basis (up to $50,000 annually).* For the Caring Place Funds, the Charity Legacy Fund Incentive applies to the Legacy Fund only.
