The Globe Theatre is a registered charity who started operations in 1966 by touring children’s theatre across the province of Saskatchewan. After 60 years of creating and telling prairie stories, The Globe is now one of the largest theatre companies in the country and continues to focus on professional theatre, community, and education. The Globe Theatre is a pioneer in the landscape of Canadian theatre and boasts a dynamic theatre education hub, The Boquist Theatre School.

Our three-fold mission revolves around the connection between the artist and the audience. We create high-quality, memorable professional theatre that engages the community, and educates audiences, artists, students, and staff. Under the artistic guidance of Ken and Sue Kramer, Susan Ferley, Ruth Smillie, and now Jennifer Brewin the Globe has grown into a fundamental part of the Regina community. The Globe Theatre currently operates under a dual leadership model with nationally acclaimed artists and administrators Jennifer Brewin and Oz Weaver serving as Artistic and Executive Directors respectively.

In 2025, we celebrate our 60th year of operations as well as the completion of the historic renovation of our 68,000 square foot building- MacCorquodale Place. This $49 million build gutted the historic building, preserving the tindelstone exterior and completely refitting the interior. The build includes the creation of two fully accessible professionally outfitted theatre spaces. The iconic theatre-in-the-round for our Main Stage (408 seats) with a brand-new catwalk and trap room; and the Community Theatre Black Box (200 seats).

Our evolving history of work on stage and in the community shows our vision and commitment to an optimistic future full of stories of transformation, resilience, and hope. Globe Theatre is committed to being a cultural hub in downtown Regina, remaining open when we aren’t actively producing shows for workshops, admin space, and rentals.

We provide a variety of programming and services from all ages including children, teens, young adults, and seniors. They participate as artists as well as patrons of the theatre. There are several opportunities for individuals to access the theatre programming through the reduction of financial barriers. This includes pay-what-you-can tickets for our productions and scholarships for theatre schools.

Globe theatre lives their values.

As an organization that:

reflects the diversity of the people of Saskatchewan;

offers programming that is inclusive of age, ability and socio-economic status;

and is committed to advancing the process of reconciliation with Canada’s Indigenous people.
