Boreal Healthcare Foundation Fund

Your gift to this fund will help equip the new Victoria Hospital with essential tools, technology, and patient care supports, helping families across Prince Albert and northern Saskatchewan receive better care closer to home.

Better care, close to home

For too long, patients and families across northern Saskatchewan have had to travel far from home for care that should be available closer to where they live.

Boreal Healthcare Foundation connects community generosity with the equipment, technology, and care priorities that strengthen healthcare across Prince Albert and northern Saskatchewan.

The new Victoria Hospital is changing that future. But a new building is only part of the work. To serve patients from day one, it needs the right equipment, technology, and patient care tools inside every room where care happens.

Through the Boreal Healthcare Foundation Fund, your support may help Equip the Vic and strengthen healthcare for the people who rely on Victoria Hospital. From emergency and surgical care to diagnostics, maternity, pediatrics, mental health, and everyday patient needs, this fund can help ensure care teams have the tools they need to provide timely, safe, and compassionate care.

This is more than equipment. It is less travel. More care close to home. More families staying together during difficult moments. More support for healthcare workers. And a stronger future for patients across Prince Albert and northern Saskatchewan.

Your gift helps bring better care closer to home.

Reduced travel and reduced wait times

Victoria Hospital has long served as the Gateway to the North. Yet its facilities, built more than forty years ago, no longer meet the needs of the 150,000 people who rely on them each year. More than 24,000 patients bypass Victoria Hospital annually. Not because they want to, but because beds are full or services are unavailable.

With a 40 percent increase in hospital capacity and Saskatchewan’s first MRI north of Saskatoon, this project is a promise. A promise that families will no longer need to drive hours for cancer treatment. That mothers and newborns will receive care in modern, private birthing rooms. That people facing mental health challenges will find compassionate, specialized support.

Thanks to you, that’s 10,000 fewer harrowing drives, and 10,000 community members receiving care closer to home. This is vital for positive long-term outcomes and keeping families and loved ones nearby during challenging times.

Equip the vic

The Government of Saskatchewan is funding the construction of the new acute care tower. But it is up to us, as a community, to ensure the hospital is fully equipped and ready to serve patients from day one.

This includes everything from diagnostic equipment and operating room tools, to vital signs monitors and specialized maternity and pediatric equipment.

We are raising:

Together, we can bring the right tools, technologies, and comforts into every room, for every patient.

I survived a life-threatening medical emergency thanks to the care I received at Victoria Hospital. Because of generous support like yours, the hospital team had everything they needed to stabilize me. From the CT scan technology to pinpoint my aortic tear to the expertise in the emergency department, donor funds had an impact on my survival every step of the way.
