Community: For Weyburn, by Weyburn. The Weyburn Communithon Foundation strengthens social, cultural and community well-being through a yearly telethon supporting local charities, community initiatives and cultural activities.

For more than four decades, Communithon has brought the Weyburn and area community together around one simple idea: when we work together, we can make a difference close to home.

Communithon began under the banner of Weyburn United Way in 1981. It later transitioned to United Way Regina before coming home as an independent non-profit, the Weyburn Communithon Foundation, in 2025, and finally a full charity in 2026. Through every chapter of its history, Communithon has remained focused on one thing: home.

Carrying the tradition forward

Today, the Weyburn Communithon Foundation continues that proud local cultural tradition, keeping the spirit of giving rooted in our community. The Communithon Fund provides support to local organizations and initiatives serving Weyburn and area, helping address community needs and strengthen the programs, services, and opportunities available to local residents.

Every dollar has the potential to create a ripple effect. Funds raised through Communithon may support organizations and initiatives working in areas such as mental health, accessibility, inclusion, transportation, family supports, animal welfare, and other important community needs. As those needs evolve, the fund can continue responding to opportunities where local support can make a meaningful difference, right here in southeastern Saskatchewan.

Communithon is powered by community. Volunteers, donors, businesses, performers, sponsors, and local organizations have all played a role in building its legacy. What began more than 40 years ago as a community-wide telethon in partnership with AccessNow TV continues today as a true reflection of what happens when a community comes together. With the support of more than 75 volunteers, over 60 local performance acts, and hundreds of thousands of dollars raised over the years, Communithon is a powerful example of local culture, generosity, and community in action.

The Communithon Fund provides a way to carry that legacy forward. Gifts to the fund help ensure that local generosity continues supporting the people, programs, and initiatives that make our community stronger today and into the future.
