Human Dignity Resource Foundation: – A Charitable Initiative of UCAS & ADPA, hosted by the Saskatchewan Community Foundation
The Community Foundation and UCAS & ADPA have partnered to establish a two-part fund: Human Dignity Resource Foundation – Legacy Fund and the Human Dignity Resource Foundation – Flow‑Through Fund.
These funds are grounded in the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948), particularly the fundamental belief in the equality of human dignity and worth for every individual. Our mission is to confront and address systemic racism, guided by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) Declaration on Race and the Elimination of Racial Prejudice (1978).
Furthermore, these funds are committed to advancing the objectives of the United Nations International Decade for People of African Descent (2015–2024), focusing on the pillars of Recognition, Justice, and Development.
Together, the Legacy Fund and Flow‑Through Fund support both immediate initiatives and sustainable futures including advancing healing, inclusion, and the human dignity of African descent communities across Canada.
What is the Human Dignity Resource Foundation (HDRF)?
Strategic Fundraising Platform
HDRF is a charitable foundation with two funding arms: a DEVELOPMENT FUND and LEGACY FUND established to meet the urgent and crisis needs and to secure long-term financial sustainability - respectively.
Philanthropy in Humanity
A structured vehicle engaging supporters through donor partnerships, legacy gifts, and collaborative philanthropy focused on healing, advancing shared humanity and well-being for African descent, Indigenous, and other racialized Canadians.
Community Investment Tool
HDRF enables supporters to make meaningful investments in initiatives that address root causes of systemic and structural racism, prevent and protect from further harm, and promote human rights principles, values and objectives.

A Long-Term Investment in Human Dignity.
The Human Dignity Resource Foundation – Legacy Fund is a long-term, perpetual fund dedicated to the holistic development ie. human, social, and economic this is inclusive of people of African descent in Canada. Its purpose is to sustain and grow efforts that promote lasting equity, inclusion, and full participation for all people in all areas of society.
Donations to the Legacy Fund are invested to grow over time, creating an enduring resource that will support this vision for generations to come.
Your contribution to the Legacy Fund may be used towards:
- Advancing human rights–based research and development aimed at dismantling systemic racism while promoting healing, mental health, and holistic human, social, and economic growth
- Sustainable long-term funding to support UCAS & ADPA's sustainable operations
- Human Rights Education and Research & Development Scholarships for:
- Post Secondary Education
- Graduate Education
- Post Graduate Education
- Post-Doctoral Research, Innovation, Policy Change, and Development
Donate to the Flow‑Through Fund
The Human Dignity Resource Foundation – Flow‑Through Fund is designed to focus more on immediate and short-term support. This fund helps launch and grow projects that promote anti-racism, belonging, healing, mental health, and community development now. The fund’s purpose is to support the development of inclusive spaces, community education, and healing initiatives. Your contribution to the Flow-Through Fund may be used towards:
- Creating welcoming office and community spaces that foster a genuine sense of belonging for historically marginalized groups
- Internal organization capacity building
- Capital development opportunities like the UCAS & ADPA Office Space or the Human Dignity & Diversity (Research & Development Lab)
- Programming related to the GAF-Childcare Centre such as the Theatre Program or the GAF Soccer Camp Children Program

Systemic and Structural racism continues to undermine equal opportunity, mental health, and sense of belonging. The Legacy and Development Funds address these challenges through:
