Golf. Community. Purpose. The Chad Pottle Memorial Golf Tournament—where good times meet a great cause.

This tournament is more than a day on the course—it’s a celebration of Chad Pottle’s life, his larger-than-life energy, and the love he had for family, sport, and helping others. Chad passed away in 2021 at just 42 after a short, brave battle with rhabdomyosarcoma, but his legacy lives on in every laugh shared, swing taken, and dollar raised in his name.

Chad was a force. A leader at Gateway Mechanical, a coach who changed lives on the rink and the field, a dad who gave his all, and a guy whose laugh could lift a room. His motto—“We win or we learn”—reminds us to keep pushing, keep showing up, and keep doing good.

All funds raised go to Cystic Fibrosis Canada in support of Chad’s son, Harlen, and everyone living with CF.

About Chad Pottle

Chad passed away at his residence encircled by the love of his family on Friday, February 26th2021 at the age of 42, after being diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma four months earlier.  He leaves behind his soulmate Susan; children Cowen and Harlen; dog Ronan; parents Garry and Wilma; sister Bridget; sister-in-law Kelly (Ryan) and brother-in-law Sean (Lorisa).  He was aUncle to Cole, Anson, William, Hannah, Creston, and Casian.

Chad and Susan adored each other over 24 years and intended on traveling the world and loving each other always and forever.   Chad was exceptionally proud of and cherished his boys.  He experienced immense anguish leaving behind his children and although he was taken far too soon.

In addition to being a devoted husband and father, Chad was a caring, supportive, and engaged son, brother, uncle, and friend. He spent many years playing countless games of crib with his parents, was always ready to lend a hand to his sister and sister and brother in law, and made every visit fun and memorable as an uncle. Chad’s outgoing and kind nature drew many lifelong friends, some of whom became like family. It’s clear that he made a lasting impact and will be cherished forever.

Chad was a celebrated leader of Gateway Mechanical Services for the last ten years of his life and was well-known in the Refrigeration trade across Western Canada.  Chad spread his passion for sports, specifically lacrosse and hockey, with athletes across Saskatchewan.   In 2020, he was awarded the Coach of the year by the Saskatchewan Lacrosse Association.  Chad was optimistic, generous, loyal, kind-hearted, courageous, caring, resilient, had an enthusiastic laugh that always got others to laugh along, a fan of heavy metal music and lifting heavy.   Even throughout his hospital admissions, he was full of life, laugher and connected with everyone.

Chad will be forever missed, and this golf tournament is one way to celebrate him and help raise money for Team Kraken,  a fundraising effort he started to raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada to support the ongoing battle his son Harlen faces.
