Hazel Mae is an award-winning broadcaster and fashion designer, and a trailblazer in Canadian sports broadcasting. One of the first women to break into Canada’s sports broadcasting industry, Hazel has built a distinguished career spanning television, baseball, fashion, and journalism.
Off the diamond, Hazel founded Hazel Mae Design to create what she had struggled to find in the marketplace: a collection of dresses crafted from high-quality ponte fabric in vibrant, jewel-toned colours, thoughtfully designed to flatter the female figure.
On the diamond, Hazel brings extensive baseball knowledge and insight shaped by her experience with NESN and MLB Network. After establishing herself in the U.S. sports broadcasting landscape, Hazel returned to her
Canadian roots and now serves as the sideline reporter for the Toronto Blue Jays on Rogers Sportsnet.
In 2026, Hazel was honoured with the prestigious Gordon Sinclair Award for Broadcast Journalism at the Canadian Screen Awards, recognizing her significant contributions to Canadian broadcasting.
Hazel’s debut memoir, Before I Let You Go: Life in Broadcasting, Baseball, and Beyond, will be released on November 10.
