Dara Schindelka

Dara is a celebrated Saskatchewan artist. Nominated for keyboardist of the year by Saskatchewan Country Music Association, twice nominated in the Sask Arts Celebration of the Arts as a singer, and a recipient of SOCAN emerging artist fund, Sask Arts Independent Artist Grant, and Creative Sask recipient for the creation of her 2nd album, Dara has travelled across Canada touring and sharing her songs and stories. Her latest project, She Imagined, is a collection of traditional folk songs that share the stories of women from hundreds of years ago that have ties to our present culture. Her genre bending styles include folk, classical, jazz and most recently techno electronic. When not working on her solo projects, Dara loves singing backup for other artists and is a member of the funk/groove band BackSeat Driver, Northern Air, and Range Road Girls.

When not making music, Dara teaches music lessons at the University of Regina Conservatory in southern Saskatchewan, Canada.
